Kargicak shouldn't be thought of as a continuation of Mahmutlar just to its west. While Mahmutlar is dense, multi-storey and urbanised, Kargicak is more sparsely built, a quiet town where villas and groves dominate. It lies about 14-20 kilometres east of central Alanya; between Mahmutlar and Demirtas, near the eastern end of the area.
Most guests who come here come for calm and a holiday close to nature. Many people staying in Kargicak can complete their holiday without going down to central Alanya much; the town's own markets, small restaurants and beach are enough to fill the day. For big shopping or lively nightlife, Mahmutlar and Alanya are a car ride away.
Between Sea and Mountain: Banana and Avocado Groves
Kargicak's most distinct feature is that it leans its back on the Taurus Mountains and turns its face to the Mediterranean. This pairing offers the town both a sea and a mountain holiday at once. Thanks to its fertile soil, bananas, avocados and bitter oranges grow here; the groves stretching toward the shore form the town's rural texture.
In recent years the area has built its name on bananas and, more recently, avocado growing; the fertile soil of the Taurus foothills and the mild climate make a suitable setting for this tropical fruit. Seeing the avocado and banana harvest in season in the roadside groves is one of the details that sets Kargicak apart from neighbouring Mahmutlar.
Early in the morning, you often come across people walking the banana- and orange-scented streets. On local tables you find dishes like sepit, dogme asi and bitter-orange jam; the fish restaurants along the shore also serve Mediterranean cuisine fresh.

Kargicak Beach is known for being long and relatively calm; compared to Mahmutlar's livelier shore, this is more peaceful. Part of the beach is sandy, part pebbly; the water is clear.

The beach and hotel pool during the day, and a walk along the shore in the late afternoon, are the natural flow of a day in the town. Dim River and Sapadere Canyon
There are two nature spots that guests staying in Kargicak visit often. The first is the Dim River, about 23 kilometres from the town; at the water-platform restaurants set on the bank of the cool stream coming down from the Taurus, dipping your feet in the water and eating fish is a classic pleasure of the area. The nearby Dim Cave is also visited.
The second is the Sapadere Canyon; on the way to this canyon, known for its natural pools, waterfall and walking path, you also see Alanya's famous banana groves along the road. Rafting at Koprulu Canyon and the Cuceler Cave are also among the nature routes reached from Kargicak.

- Mistake: Automatically flying to Antalya Airport. Fix: Gazipasa-Alanya Airport is only ~25 km from Kargicak; if you can find a flight there, the road drops from 2 hours to half an hour. We serve from both airports.
